Alexandra Gilmartin Bsc. Physiotherapy MCSP Lic.Ac MBAcC
Alexandra has been studying and practising acupuncture in Ayrshire since 1998. She brings her breadth of knowledge from both a western medical perspective from her degree in Physiotherapy from Glasgow Caledonian University in 1993, and from her qualification in Classical 5 Element Acupuncture from the College of Traditional Acupuncture in 1998. She has also carried out post-graduate studies in acupuncture in palliative care, fertility and obstetric acupuncture, numerous musculoskeletal conditions and management of post-mastectomy complications and lymphoedema. She is also a cranio-Sacral therapist and bowen technique practitioner. At present she is also studying nutritional healing with the Nutritional Healing Foundation.
Alexandra’s style is to provide a supportive, relaxed environment using gentle needling and, if appropriate, a variety of hands-on techniques . Her areas of special interests include:
Musculoskeletal conditions which include back and neck pain and sciatica, mentrual disorders, infertility and IVF assistance, pregnancy care, chronic illnesses involving stress, tension and anxiety.
Alexandra also works one day per week in the NHS in her capacity as a physiotherapist specialising in treating post breast surgery complications with myofascial release techniques and is a lymphoedema key worker.
She is a member of the British Acupuncture Council, the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and the Acupuncture Fertility Network.
Sian Gilmartin BSc(Hons), MBA, DipCAH, PNLP, HPD
Sian has been involved in personal development therapies since 2004, at which time she completed her training with The Coaching School in both Personal and Corporate Coaching, going on to specialise in Coaching in the Workplace during her MBA in the same year. Since then Sian has been a practicing Life Coach and Corporate Coach, working with both individuals and organisations.
In 2007 Sian qualified as a Clinical & Advanced Hypnotherapist and a Neuro-Lingusitic Programming Practitioner, which combined with her coaching skills has led to a much broader scope of treatment for her clients.
In April 2008 Sian was lucky enough to be one of the few Uk Hypnotherapists who have trained and qualified directly with the Hypnofertility founder Lynsi Eastburn, Sian is delighted to be a Registered Hypnofertility Practitioner, and to bring this specialised programme to the Ayrshire area. Sian is passionate about her specialisation in this area, and in September 2008 will be offering Hypnobirthing classes to her clients.
She is a member of the National Council for Hypnotherapy.
